Academic and clinical excellence in periodontics and implant therapy
The Master in Periodontology and Periimplantology of the University of Barcelona is based on a decalogue of values and guidelines that guarantee the training of highly competent professionals. Through a rigorous methodology and a multidisciplinary approach, we prepare specialists with a global vision and an attitude of service towards the community, combining technical mastery, research and commitment to health education.
Our goal is for each resident to become a vocational specialist, with advanced skills in periodontal, mucogingival and implant surgical techniques, and, at the same time, to assume a leadership role in the field of research and teaching. This program pursues academic and clinical excellence with continuous improvement, thus contributing to the advancement of dental and health sciences.
We offer a 3-year master's degree with 180 ECTS credits, designed to guarantee a
Complete and specialized preparation that combines theory, clinical practice and research.
We will follow a clinical and educational program inspired by the MIR system. We will prioritize the
clinical sessions and we will guarantee the quality in the execution of all treatments,
regardless of its complexity.
At the University of Barcelona, teaching goes hand in hand with research. We, the directors, are
researchers in consolidated research groups at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital - IRSJD and
IDIBELL. Residents will have the opportunity to complete their doctorate and become
future researchers. This master's degree facilitates the integration of research with practice
clinical, offering solid training in both areas.
The teaching staff is made up of professionals with recognized prestige who come from
diverse backgrounds, including university hospitals, research centers and the industry
private, providing a wealth of knowledge and a global and updated vision. In addition,
combines the expertise and wisdom of senior professionals, who bring years of
of clinical and academic experience, with the innovation and dynamism of younger teachers,
which introduce the latest techniques and technological advances
Periodontal medicine is a powerful tool within the health sciences to promote
health education and patient empowerment. Through this master's degree,
we will allow residents to connect with other hospitals and health services in our
environment where periodontal medicine can have a cross-disciplinary impact.
Our residents, during their training, will receive registration grants for
congresses, courses or workshops organized by: (i) the Spanish Society of Periodontics and
Osteointegration (ii) the European Federation of Periodontology (iii) European
Association for Osteointegration (iv) Osteology Foundation.
Knowledge must be transmitted intelligently. Another priority
of this master's degree is that our residents end up being good communicators and
having complete mastery of staging.
We promote socially responsible dentistry, with a strong ethical component that
includes raising awareness about human rights and service to others.
We support residents in their development not only as professionals
competent, but also as people of integrity, committed to their
continuous training and human excellence.
The Kili Clinicians Association (KCA) will make it possible for master's residents to participate in voluntary training stays in university hospitals in Tanzania
